Nutts Corner Progress Update – Site Visit Marks Final Stages

We’re pleased to share a further update on the development of our new HANNON Steel facility at Nutts Corner, as the project moves closer to completion.

With construction now in its final stages, the site continues to take shape as a high-capacity, purpose-built steel stockholding and distribution centre, designed to support our customers across Northern Ireland.

A Significant Milestone on Site

We recently welcomed Robin Swann MP (UUP, South Antrim) to the site, offering an opportunity to showcase the progress made to date and the scale of investment behind the project.

Following his visit, he commented:

“Fantastic to see first-hand the massive £22m investment HANNON Steel is bringing to South Antrim with their new Nutts Corner site. A very impressive site and an example of South Antrim being an excellent place to work and invest.”

It was a valuable opportunity to highlight the role this new facility will play in supporting local industry and strengthening supply across the region.

Progress Towards Completion

Since our last update, work has continued at pace across the site, with the building now largely complete externally and internal development progressing steadily.

The focus remains on delivering a facility that improves:

  • Stockholding capacity

  • Workflow efficiency

  • Yard operations and vehicle access

  • Overall customer experience

Each stage of the build is centred around creating a practical, efficient environment that reflects the day-to-day demands of a busy steel stockholding operation.

Looking Ahead

As we move closer to our planned opening in Q1 2026, final works are now concentrated on internal fit-out, yard completion, and operational readiness.

This new facility will allow us to carry a broader and deeper range of steel products, respond more efficiently to customer demand, and continue delivering reliable supply across Northern Ireland.

We look forward to sharing further updates as we approach completion and prepare for the move.
